What happens between today and the end of your first appointment, in order. Nothing on this page is a surprise on the day.
Your details, a card on file (a temporary $100 hold verifies it and is released immediately), photos of your insurance card if you are using insurance, and the patient agreement signed electronically. Every document you will sign is listed further down this page, so you can read them first.
Once onboarding is complete we send you four or five open appointment times, usually within hours and never later than the next business day. Choose one and your visit is set: the video link arrives with the confirmation, and no phone call is needed. Before the day, test your camera, microphone and connection in one minute. Evaluations are usually scheduled within a week: over the last six months, the median wait from paperwork to first visit has been 2 days, and 89% of new patients were seen within a week (how we measure). If you have prior records or a medication list, send them ahead; we read everything you send, with no page limit.
60 minutes for a new-patient evaluation; 90 minutes when the diagnosis itself is in question, for a comprehensive evaluation or a second opinion. We work through the four perspectives: disease, dimension, behavior and life story. Expect questions about your history, what has been tried, and what has helped.
A working formulation, meaning how we understand the problem, a plan, and the dates for what will be re-checked. Prescriptions go to your pharmacy electronically the same day. A written formulation is provided on request, and as a matter of course for second opinions and for patients referred by another clinician, who receives it with your consent.
30-minute visits, at the interval the plan calls for. Refills, scheduling, billing and records run through the Current Patients page, each request with a reference number you can track.
We would rather tell you now than after onboarding.

Not sure whether we are the right practice for you? Ask. Our assistant answers questions about how we work, what we treat and what to expect; it does not give medical advice.
